AUDIO SURVEILLANCE Audio surveillance allows the monitoring of a room, subject or telephone conversation. This can be done in various ways but in all cases a transmitter or recorder and a receiver is necessary. A transmitter (bug) can be hidden in various ways. Sometimes they are disguised as pens or every day objects such cups, calculators or books. The bug transmits sound which is then picked up by a receiver. The quality of bugging devices vary and our range is meant to accommodate most requirements. There are two types of transmitters and receivers - FM and UHF. FM transmitters use an air band frequency between 110-130mhz. To receive these transmissions you need a receiver. Our range of transmitters and receivers starts at just £45.00 ($90.00) and this includes postage and packing! Simply tune the receiver in and listen to the conversation! A recording unit can also be attached to the receiver. Obviously the range and quality of transmitters vary, so be sure to note the range of each device when selecting items. Portable recording or transmitting systems are an excellent way to record meetings, negotiations, etc. The pen transmitter, briefcase, calculator transmitter contain very powerful bugs and the results are excellent. For even better results Eye Spy recommends UHF transmitters and receivers. These are crystal-tuned and the frequency is locked. This means that the receiver needs no tuning, simply turn on listen and record. UHF devices are set between 398-418mhz. The range of UHF transmitters and receivers is greater than FM equipment and the clarity is sensational. Transmitters come in all shapes and sizes, but they all require a power source. Some use tiny batteries and are voice activated to save on power. Others are designed in such a manner that they use electric, bugs that look like plugs or sockets for example. Obviously these devices work continually. THE ENIGMA BUG One of our most powerful bugs is the Enigma mobile phone device. This is used by professionals in the intelligence and security world. Simply call the number on the phone and the bug is activated. The phone uses a normal card and can be used on any network by inserting a new card. There is also a vehicle variant of the Enigma device that can be fitted to a car. Because the bug is made active by telephoning the mobile phone, the device has a range of thousands of miles! We also stock the Trojan mobile phone device. This is identical to the Enigma but can be used as an ordinary mobile phone. RECORDERS To record all the transmissions you will need a cassette recorder. Eye Spy stock various recorders that simply attach to the receivers. Prices start at £50.00. COVERT CAMERAS Like listening devices, surveillance cameras come in all shapes and sizes and vary in price and quality. Some cameras are as small as a coin, while others are disguised in everyday objects, like smoke detectors, for example. All the devices can be fitted to conventional video recorders. COUNTER SURVEILLANCE All transmitters (bugs) are vulnerable to bug detectors because they send out a signal. Eye Spy stock a useful range of counter surveillance devices from the hand-held 'Bug Hunter' (£180.00) to kits used only by professional and governmental organisations (£3,550). The latter system detects microwaves, cameras, frequency hoppers, infrared devices, mains-carried bugs, vehicle trackers etc. However, all the units will detect conventional and often used bugs. Recommended. SPECIAL ITEMS Eye Spy also stock one or two interesting items, including a UV and stain detection kit. This is a terrific item that can be used to detect if anyone has been in your drawers or leafed through your private papers, used or tampered with items etc. Simply brush the invisible powder on any item. Using the UV light device you will be able to detect any smudges. Fingerprints can also be taken. Our best-selling KeyKatcher is another terrific item that can be attached covertly to a computer in a couple of seconds. It then records all the strokes made on a keyboard. When the operation is completed, simply remove and examine its contents on your machine. The device is a 'dead bug', thus cannot be detected by bug detectors.
